The Lebanon Valley is a great location to do business. Within a 500-mile radius of the Valley lies 45 percent of the U.S. population, 60 percent of the Canadian population, four of the nine major U.S. markets, 41 percent of domestic trade service industries and 45 percent of U.S. manufacturers. This prime location serves as a strong incentive for businesses to take root in the Valley.
The area boasts moderate real estate taxes and affordable industrial and commercial land. Funding and incentives such as tax-exempt industrial revenue bonds, workforce training grants and infrastructure programs are available to employers.
Among the prominent and growing business sectors in the Lebanon Valley are agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, pharmaceutical-related firms, warehousing and distribution companies and service industries.
Nearly 5,000 businesses call the Lebanon Valley area home, with large national companies existing side-by-side with locally owned businesses. The Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce represents a “business melting pot” with its membership comprised of a variety of types and sizes of businesses from all areas of the Lebanon Valley. The Chamber provides legislative representation, business training programs, networking opportunities, business assistance services and group benefit programs to its more than 800 member employers.
